The Peace and Development makers Forum is an initiative launched by youth groups from Africa, Europe, Asia and the Arab region under the umbrella of International Alliance for Peace and Development (Geneva), on the sidelines of the 41st Session of the UN Human Rights Council. This forum has been launched to organize and unite youth efforts and communicate their voices to decision makers at the international, regional and national levels. It also seeks to maintain youth contribution to the formulation of policies for global peace and sustainable development. The Forum aims to contribute to silencing guns and bullets’ voices and achieving sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations within the framework of the 2030 Agenda. It relies on mobilizing youth efforts and engaging them in a positive and sustained dialogue that transcends geographical and political boundaries; respects cultural and ideological diversity and human rights principles, as well as, benefits from the tremendous progress in communication technologies.

An initiative like the Peace and Development Makers Forum was the need of the hour. Undoubtedly, this forum will organize and unite youth efforts and communicate their voices to decision makers at the international, regional and national levels. It will also provides a robust platform to youth to extend their contribution to the formulation of policies for global peace and sustainable development.
Today’s world need peace, love, compassion and development more than anything else. Because, the world is facing fatal challenges of terrorism, violence, extremism, hate speech and discrimination. A number of nations have been involved in some or other form of conflicts including sectarian and confessional civil wars. In such a vulnerable and alarming situation when the world population is facing vital economic challenges, especially in light of the rapid pace of climate change, the continued aggression on the environment and the depletion of economic resources.
Young people can contribute to peace-building, cessation of violence, extremism, terrorism, hate speech, discrimination and racism, as well, to help people and governments realize and achieve sustainable development goals 2030. Hence, I heartily support this forum and would like to associate with this platform to contribute as an Indian youth in peace-building
