In International Youth Day: International Alliance for Peace and Development asserts that Youth are the future leaders

Youth Will Lead Tomorrow

In conjunction with International Youth Day, August 12, the International Alliance for Peace and Development emphasizes on importance of youth in societies, where youth play a major role in the progress and development of society. 12 August was first designated International Youth Day by the UN General Assembly in 1999, and serves as an annual celebration of the role of young women and men as essential partners in change, and an opportunity to raise awareness of challenges and problems facing youth.

Youth are the energy that drives society and they have the ability to raise and advance society, they are the backbone of society and cannot be indispensable, youth are the facade of society and is measured by the progress of society and the extent of their culture and urbanization. They have all the qualities and qualifications that make them ready to work and produce abundantly in order to develop society.

Since the adoption of Security Council resolution 2250 in 2015, there has been growing recognition that the inclusion of young people in the peace and security agenda and in society at large is an essential element in peace building and sustainability, and another Security Council resolution emphasizes the important role that youth can play in deterring conflicts. They are essential elements in ensuring the success of both peacekeeping and peace-building efforts.

The International Alliance for Peace and Development focuses in all its activities on youth, because Alliance believes that youth have a great ability to promote peace. Last month, the international Alliance announced the launch of a peace makers initiative based on young people from around the world. Young people are able to contribute to the making process of future-policies and to contribute to peace-building. Also, respecting human rights and sustainable development, and international, regional and national mechanisms that respond to young people’s aspirations and contributions, which are open to their views on the world future.

The International Alliance calls from all countries and organizations to increase the integration of youth, remove the challenges facing youth, and empower them to lead the future, and calls on all countries to include laws and legislation that promote youth participation in all sectors of society.
