On international day of charity: The International Alliance for Peace and Development calls for a spirit of strengthened global solidarity

In conjunction with international day of charity International Alliance for Peace and Development calls for the promotion of a spirit of global solidarity. Charity working is the real face of humanity, because it has the potential to raise the impact of crisis damage and support public services in the areas of medical care, education, housing and child protection. This day  aims to sensitize and motivate people, NGOs and common stakeholders around the world to help others through volunteerism and charitable activities.

In the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development  adopted in September 2015, the United Nations recognizes that eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development. This day focused in particular on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable. It also acknowledges the role of the diverse private sector, ranging from micro-enterprises to cooperatives to multinationals, and that of civil society organizations and philanthropic organizations in the implementation of the new Agenda.

The international Alliance believes that charity working is very effective in improving culture, science and sports, protecting cultural heritage, as well as promoting the rights of the marginalized and disadvantaged and spreading the humanitarian message in conflict situations. Poverty exists in every country around the globe, from powerful industrial nations to developing countries. It continues to affect millions of people, regardless of their social and cultural situations, and is a barrier to true prosperity and equality. We can’t ignore the fact that charity around the world help to save and improve lives of people in fighting diseases, protecting children and also it gives hope to various thousands of people.

However, this day comes and there are still 2.6 million Kenyans face starvation, so the international Alliance calls on all international and regional organizations to fully support the eradication of famine and International solidarity is the basic for a prosperous society.
