International Alliance for Peace and Development calls for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
In conjunction with the World Day for Cultural Diversity for dialogue and development, International Alliance for Peace and Development calls for culture diversity in all the world .IAPD determines that Cultural diversity is a driving force of development, not only with respect to economic growth, but also as a means of leading a more fulfilling intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual life.
IAPD also determines that Equitable exchange and dialogue among civilizations, cultures and peoples, based on mutual understanding and respect and the equal dignity of all cultures is the essential prerequisite for constructing social cohesion, reconciliation among peoples and peace among nations. Placing culture at the heart of development policy constitutes an essential investment in the world’s future and a pre-condition to successful globalization processes that take into account the principles of cultural diversity. So Development is inseparable from culture
The objective of the action is to raise public awareness of the need for intercultural dialogue with a special focus on mutual respect, involving opinion leaders as well as the public, and to demonstrate intercultural exchange with practical examples. The ultimate goal is to promote dialogue between cultures, because bridging the gap between cultures is very important for stability, peace, and development, as many of the major conflicts around the globe have a cultural dimension.
In this regard IAPD recommends that the necessary of convincing political decision-makers and local, national and international social actors to integrating the principles of cultural diversity and the values of cultural pluralism into all public policies, mechanisms and practices, particularly through public/private partnerships.
